Avocation

Fran Lebowitz basically said if you enjoy something, you're probably not good at it so keep it to yourself. I have selected things I love to do, but I’m actually horrible at, so I would like to share some of those with you all today. Dancing is hard to pull off, because if you don’t have the confidence for it, it doesn’t work. Your body doesn’t flow and the moves won’t come to you naturally. Next is singing; singing is a perfect and easy way to relieve stress, I often think if you’re stressed go on a run or punch a wall, but really what you need is to scream or…. Sing! Next would be language. I learned French in middle school and still think I can pull it off, I forget I actually failed that class. When I meet people I usually bring up how I can speak French, and everyone believes me, because it’s not like they can speak French either. On the opposite side of this spectrum there are things I must do, but I’m horrible at; cleaning, for example. Cleaning takes me so long, by the end I begin to slack. I have stairs in my house, and cleaning the dust from them is so monotonous and since I put it off for so long it only takes longer to clean in the future, because now there is more dust, and this is the cycle of cleanliness I am currently dealing with. Keeping record of the things you enjoy is good though, and there are ways to help yourself too. You don’t always have to live in shame or fear because other people are better at certain things than you. You can always join a club for bad dancers.
